Spelling- Students have homework on Monday, pages 81-84.  There will be a test on Friday over the words.  These words all have the /oi/ sound.

Language- We will be working on similes and metaphors this week.  I plan on assigning homework on Tuesday.  The quiz on this will be Thursday or Friday, depending on how they do.  I have a lot of different resources for this, as writing metaphors seem to really challenge students.

Reading- We are starting a new story called Apples to Oregon.  I am going to try and tie this into the old Oregon Trails game.  We will be working on  cause and effect situations with this story.

 

Math- We are wrapping up area and perimeter.  There will be a quiz on Wednesday over this.

​​Science-We are continuing on with Chapter 5 Section 3.  There will likely be homework on Wednesday.

Ohio-  We are just starting Chapter 9.  This deals with the all of the industries that came about in the late 1800s and early 1900s.  There will be homework this week with this too, but I have a few things I want to try with them before I assign it.
